WAR OF 1812 BATTLE THAT CHANGED THE WAR

The U.S tried to invade Canada and take it over. The plan failed and the Battle of Stoney creek was the turning point in the war. This video touches on life for the soldiers and settlers in the area. My appreciation for all who fought, suffered and payed the ultimate price.

BEST CRUISE PORT POOL

A short look at one of my favourite cruise stop ports, Amber Cove Cruise Center around the pool. There are food outlets, bars, a cruise crew centre where you can also buy drinks, snacks and souvenirs. A zipline, kayak and paddle boat rentals, shopping, duty free store and more.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS NIAGARA 2023 DECEMBER
Ahhhh….,the Yummy Man! Doesn’t this bring childhood innocent memories of innocent days of youth back to life? Those hot, hot summer days, running home for a quarter before the yummy man truck left! Get home to mom hoping she’d give in or maybe your uncle was there and he gave you some money, more than you needed and said “get me one too!”. Those were great days weren’t they?
😅
The war of 1812, re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek. This was the turning point in the war. This is the 3rd video of the day of the re-enactment on June 1, 2024, narration of the battle is from a local historian. Deep and sincere thanks to all who made this event possible. Question: who do you think won the war of 1812? Britain? Or the United States?

I was in Wyoming a couple of weeks ago and it snowed (a little)
It s funny how snow can fall when snow it’s almost summer. I know why but it’s still strange. Yeah this weather guy made a slip of the tongue it’s far too warm here for snow. They put these guys on this TV station to talk about the weather but none of them have a clue as they are not meteorologists. I waited to see if the news caster behind the desk caught it and would say something but no they didn’t. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Temperatures are in Celsius. This is June 12 the temperature forecasted is very warm. The weatherman made a blooper listen carefully for Thursday June 13.
Looks decent and clean 😁
It’s pretty decent, there os a Sure Stsy anoit 2 blocks away that isn’t too bad, a Holiday Inn opposite side of the street closer to the airport and a bunch of old motels with names like “Bit-o-Paris” and that sort. I always got a kick out of the name🤣
Where can i go to see this?
Guess you’ll have to watch the video with the sound on. If you have well thanks for watching.
Er, yeah. They're called "files" and "open" and "desktop" as analogies to the real-world things. That's deliberate. The computer words are adapted from previous words. That's not remarkable and doesn't need to be announced in that patronising tone.
It’s unfortunate you are so serious about how he describes things. It’s meant as humour and he did a great job of holding the kids attention in his audience until the end of his spiel. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
The current young generation don't know those real-world things because they grew up with screens in their faces.
@@domdecosa yep and to give the young people something to connect with he called it a “laptop” which I think was a great way to get their attention giving them a relatable term and let them experience some history from the early 1800’s. In the case of this event the War of 1812. Thank you for watching and commenting.👍
We get our modern words from things in the past as a concept. It's just funny because we're no longer connected to them and we rediscovering them. I also like the storage on paper because it doesn't require batteries.
Yep exactly right👍🏻 thanks for watching snd commenting.
I'm sure that the one mug on the Desktop in reality is a Recycle Bin!
I hope you love this historians tale of how to write in 1812. This is part 2 of a series of shorts from the reenactment weekend of the War of 1812 Battle of Stoney Creek.
Nice video!
Thank you Sammy. Glad you enjoyed. Cheers!
I like this old man. I would love to go there for the history.
He is very entertaining and really held the kids interest throughout his talk. Knows his history too! Thanks for watching and commenting.
You just have to see what an ancient laptop looks like and how it works! Watch and like this short video! Thank you for your comments and 👍🏻
Thank you.
This is an important battle for England as it changed the direction of the war. The Battle of Stoney Creek. If it had worked out in favour of the American troops they would have taken over control of Canada. In honour of the soldiers and civilians who suffered and payed the ultimate sacrifice please give this video a thumbs up👍. Let’s keep the memory alive. Thank you.
Best Western Summit Inn, best affordable option on Niagara Falls Blvd. Not too far from the U.S Canada border at Queenston/Lewiston or the Rainbow Bridge which is right at the Falls. Airport, shopping, Falls, Seneca Niagara Casino and restaurants are all close by.
see you next week
Hope you enjoy Bimini🏝️🇧🇸 thanks for watching, let us know how it went👍
Great hotel for tourists, airport, shopping. Handicapped accessible room with free breakfast, free parking, free wifi, free coffee tea in lobby, free coffee in room. Indoor heated pool, exercise room. Room also has a desk with desk chair an arm chair and USB ports at desk. No pets. Watch for my short video on the breakfast and full video of this tour.
More than likely, it's tourists visiting Niagara Falls...... just sayin
Yes some, mostly Ontario plates. Lots of day trippers I suppose and shoppers. The Rainbow bridge is often backed up with cars. Queenston/ Lewiston is also often busy too but generally a better bet. Of course there is also the old Whirlpool bridge that we often used to use until they made it a Nexus crossing point. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nobody wants to stay in Canada! They are willing to sit in their cars for hours on a hot sunny day just to escape the country to gain entry to the United States! BTW, the wait time and passing through customs into Canada only took about 5 minutes!
I'd love to visit Grand Turk
It’s a pretty quiet island outside of the cruise port. You do have to watch your step around the island, donkeys “fertilize” everything including the sidewalks! I can imagine how quiet it is here when there aren’t any ships in port. We had the fantastic opportunity several years ago on a cruise stop to visit the school as our son was with us on the trip and he had a talk at the school and a training session with the high school kids for basketball. It was a really really interesting day! 🏀🏝️🎓thanks for watching and your great comment👍
Artificially inflated house values lol
We already know all this. We don't need him to tell us. He never gives a solution. What will he do to solve this if he is elected?
If you follow him you would know the answer. Actually he did answer. Turn unused gov buildings into housing, reward communities that provide housing and lol😄 turn the CBC offices into housing! Instead of criticizing him listen to what he preaches. Or perhaps you have solutions? I’m sure everyone would love to hear them. As well let me thank you for watching and commenting all points of view are valued.
@@TripReviews he's feeling left out because Trudeau is filling his pockets by siphoning off funds from Ukraine, Gaza, COVID etc Once he comes to power he will also start filling his own pockets...
@@TripReviews don't be oversmart and delete my response 😂
All a voter can do is hope they are sincere. Without hope the likes of Trudeau will keep walking all over us.
Crazy
Yes it is! We keep populating the southern border while there is so much open land in the north.
Pierre Poilievre is the most loved political leader in Canada. In this continuing series he explains why Canadian housing is expensive. I hope you enjoy this short video recorded at the Hamilton Sons and Daughters of Italy.
What an absolutely beautiful collection of sunrises and sunsets. Don’t we all wish we could see them ourselves someday.
Thank you for your fantastic comment!😀 happy to hear you enjoyed. Cheers🥂
Relax for a few moments snd gaze at some sunsets and sunrises from the Caribbean, Florida and Canada. None of the pictures were retouched or enhanced. I hope you enjoy the show.
It looks beautiful. I always love a tropical location.
It’s a nice port. A dip in the pool following the water flow, sit for a while, something to drink, back to the ship for lunch or buy something there to eat. Stroll through the shops. If you are not chicken like me a ride down the zipline or an hour on a peddle boat or kayak. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
Amber Cove ! Dominican Republic cruise port. With a cruise port area like this you will be tempted to not leave! I do encourage you to see the local sites but after one or two cruise port days here you will love this port for a relaxing day by the pool, climb the mountain to the top of the zipline for a great view, ride the zipline, rent a bungalow for the day or paddle around the harbour, it’s you day! It’s your choice! What do you like to do at Amber Cove?
We love fish n chips. This place looks so cute. The prices seem typical and the food looks delicious.
There are some local places that are more and a couple that are a little cheaper. We had a fish and chip meal down in Ft. Lauderdale beach that ended up being quite expensive, I draft, one can of pop and 2 orders of fish and chips that weee ok but no where near as good. My visa bill was about $90 in Canadian with exchange. It was P retty costly for a lunch. Thanks for watching.
See the UA-cam video posted here NEXT PRIME MINISTER IN HAMILTON ua-cam.com/video/bPrG_je9MY0/v-deo.html Pierre should be the next P.M of Canada.
This is awesome.
Hi Red. Thanks for watching and commenting. If….when this guy gets voted in he will change this county for the better. That is if he stays in his course. Cheers!
Hands down the best fish and chips in the Niagara Peninsula! Light, crispy batter and home made French fries. This is a great fish fry! Harry’s Fish and Chips in Hamilton on Fennel Ave. East Full video ⬇️ YOUR TASTEBUDS WILL LOVE YOU ua-cam.com/video/MBqZEtdoV6k/v-deo.html
❤ Pierre
👍Let’s cross our fingers in hope that Pierre gets into office before the next election comes around. Thank you for watching and commenting. Cheers🥂
my father came from Calabria in the mid fifties. He paid for his first house in 7 years. He had a grade 4 education. My mother never worked outside the home. My father's first job was to dig pick and shovel, on the Yonge St. subway but his creativity, given the opportunity, allowed him to be sought after by Russian and United States colleges as a teacher. His work is now on display in Rideau Hall.
An amazing storey!👍 just like my father he is one to be proud of. Cheers🍻 thank you for watching and commenting.
Funny thing is I didnt know there are perks for frequent travelers. HAHA. LIKE 3. 👍👍👍
Yes it increases at each level up to Diamond, but the difference in added perks from Platinum to Diamond isn’t alot especially considering you need 200 cruise nights to qualify!
Wow it is a beautiful ship! I am jealous
Yes, it is nice. No complaints from here. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
I'm glad you are back to cruising and enjoying life. It's fun seeing these amazing locations I will likely never get to see. Joe says a strong no to cruises. Maybe someday he will change his mind.
Some day maybe you’ll get Joe on a cruise ship holiday. I never thought we would like a cruise and the very first one we almost walked off the ship before the ropes came untied. We were that overwhelmed! But stayed on board and we split a fancy drink, relaxed, ate lunch and from that point on it was great! I’m pretty sure you would like Celebrity cruise and I’m sure with your love of the mouse you’d have a good time on a Disney cruise. Try a 3 or 4 day perhaps to get a taste but just don’t do a short cruise on a weekend, a holiday weekend or when schools out. Remember too that some of these 3 day cruises can have a lot of locals on board that are unwinding and all set to party 🎉🥳
Did you say 5am? This is a great look around. The fact that you did it so early is great because you get to see everything so good. The pool water sound because of the ship moving sounds creepy. This might be one of my favorite videos you've done. It's super informative and you get to see everything in great detail. Awesome job.
WOW! Thanks for the great like and comment Red. 🥰 yes I was up early and some days just can’t get back to sleep so it gives an opportunity for myself to move around without bumping into anyone and I can take my time to move about with my cane not getting in peoples way. If you listen closely you can hear the cane rolling across the deck. I use the long white cane onboard and usually in ports and unfamiliar places as I’m not familiar with what I’m stepping on or where I’m walking. It gives me a better indication of what’s around. It has saved me from taking a few tumbles and falls on my travels and hopefully gives others a warning I’m about to make an unexpected move. I can see the phone screen not too badly in these light conditions to record or photograph it’s usually point and hope for the best. Many tomes I’ve though I was recording but didn’t hit the record button and missed it, too bad there’s not a bump or a sound to tell me I found it. Often my wife will watch the screen and either advise up down left right, say you did ok and to inform me that I’m not recording! My field of vision is under 20 degrees with little peripheral and many blank areas in the centre field. Again than you for watching and commenting. Cheers👍
Where are the chair hogs ?
Lol🤣👍 they’re still sleeping like normal people not like the weirdo I am up before 5 in the morning to get a coffee. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Amazing, amazing car show. I always love a good car show. It's beed a bit since I've been to one. They really had some stunners.
There sure were some real beauties there! Thanks for watching and commenting. Frankenmuth Michigan has a great all weekend long classic car event in September every year. But the hotel rooms are near impossible to get I think they have to be booked a year in advance! We did manage to book a room right in town several years ago on the Friday night which is the first day of the event, just got lucky and we had no clue what that particular weekend was until we got caught up in the middle of it. Cheers👍
Overcooked old enough
Thanks for doing this. We are on a budget as we travel from New Zealand. Now very happy having chosen to stay here Thursday and Friday next week
Thank you I hope you find this hotel satisfactory. Remember it is not a luxury hotel but decent with an included breakfast, in a practical location next to restaurants and shopping. You are travelling a long way. I wish you a great vacation. Cheers👍
Hey, thanks for sharing. As a blind guy myself, I completely agree with how we generally get treated by other guests in the buffet. I generally try to stick to the MDR for safety reasons.
Yes I understand that. Recently on the Enchanted Princess there was a management person working the buffet table area who would look for me as he would grab my plate out of my hands and find my table. Helpful yes but also scary when he came from out of nowhere! I found some people were patient as I am not the quickest person wondering through the buffet line and others would be a pain in the butt. We just don’t cere the slow speed of service in the MDR. Cheers! Thanks for watching and commenting. Who knows We might bump into each other someday on the high seas.
Awesome
Thanks Red. Have a great day👍
WOWWW AMAZING BEAUTIFUL VIDEO 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Thank you for watching and commenting. Glad you liked it. We were surprised how fantastic San Juan looked, we were there twice on back to back cruises.
Thank you for watching. Glad you liked it. Yes it is a beautiful place . We were really surprised at how beautiful the old city is. We had 2 port days there on back to back cruises.
San Juan is so beautiful! You won’t believe how much so until you see these old restored buildings in old San Juan. We also tour one of the old forts that stands guard right at the harbour entrance. This is really a great cruise port for walking around. The 2 forts are within walking distance of the pier. You do need good comfortable shoes as there are hills to climb, brick roads and narrow sidewalks. Remember there is an information booth right out on the public sidewalk by the pier with free maps and information. Please sit back and enjoy the slideshow tour, thank you for watching.
Crossing the road as a blind person must feel like jumping off a boat at nighttime
That’s a way to look at it. Depending on a persons level of vision. Traffic sounds are important as well as approaching people making a noise or saying something can help. Personally I have about 20% field of vision, the area I can see is at around 50/20. So once I focus in on the subject it’s not too bad, I find using an iPad is better than reading from print on paper and the smart phone is a helpful aid. I can take video and still pictures most times with my phone but it’s usually point, shoot and hope, daylight it is generally impossible to make out the screen, my wife will look at it and say ok, or yep you did ok. I’ve had quite a few funny scares since my vision started going, see things that I think are there, don’t see things or it just looks weird. Thanks for watching and commenting.
